| EnB NNTP is a very lightweight and simple Perl TK news client. Currently, the client will download article headers, and messages. You can read the message. Groups are added by hand. Double click from list. Also planned for the next release are Next/Back buttons to navigate through the articles. The zip package includes the enbnntp.pl. nntpreadme, and a default newsgroups.txt (which houses the static newsgroups.) Four files will be built after using the program for a bit, newscache.dat, bodycache.dat, headers.dat and newsconf.ini. the Dat files write/rewrite article information, and the ini file houses user/passwd/news server info. The password is currently held in clear text. |
