 | PersonalSearchUpdated: 2007-04-24 17:31
| Details
| Visit
| Download | | | PersonalSearch allows you to create a search engine for you own site. You decide what keywords it should respond to and what URLs are included in the engine. It also offers 100% control of the search abilities. This requires from you a little work: for every document you must specify a location(URL),a title and some keywords (keywords are not required). This information is stored in a file, which the applet reads from. Now you have the option of adding comments in the file. The comments will be ignored when searched. This makes it possible to easily administer large sites. The search applet will only work in browsers supporting java 1.1 and higher (ie. Netscape 4.06+ and MSIE 4.0+).

 | Search engine tag libraryUpdated: 2007-04-24 17:31
| Details
| Visit
| Download | | | The Search custom tag is an iteration tag that loops over the results of criteria passed to the Lucene search engine. This tag supports parameters for passing the search criteria to the search engine and then returns information about the result set to the page programmer through the name used in this tags ID attribute. Any field stored in the search index will be accessible after the start tag has run by calling the result set's someID.getField(String name) method which will locate the value of the field and return it as a string. In the event that no such field exists it will return an empty string. There is also a tag that does this for you. If you need to get a list of the column names ahead of time you can call the tags's getFields() method and it will return you a Set of field names that can be iterated over as you will see in the result.jsp example provided with this documentation. There is also a tag that does the same thing.

| Download | | | A core requirement of any non-trivial P2P application is secure communication between peers. While the details of the security depend on how the application will be used and on what it will protect, it's often possible to implement strong, general-purpose security using off-the-shelf technology such as SSL. This article demonstrates how to use SSL (via JSSE) in P2P security.
